The first attempt when we have a deck in front of us is to ask predictive questions.
Is a person going to return? Am I going to get that job? How is that meeting going to go?
However, as we mentioned in a previous post, the deck is a tool to connect with our energy—and it is our energy that speaks.
The mindset I hold at the moment I open a session is what the cards are going to display—and what the reader is going to interpret. Therefore, if my mind is full of negativity, stiff mental patterns, stagnant beliefs, and a dominant view or perception of reality, the reading will confirm each one of our suspicions.
What we often don’t understand is that not addressing the questions in the right direction simply strengthens a timeline ruled by the ego. The whole point of a Tarot session is to see the possibilities I have in front of me to expand my understanding, evolve my perception, transform my mindset, and therefore, jump to a timeline with more opportunities, ease, abundance, and love—guided by my Higher Self.
The key here is to ask the right questions. It’s okay if I want to understand what’s going to happen in a meeting or with a job offer. However, it is fundamental to ask: Why Am I going through a situation that feels unpleasant to me? What is the lesson in it for me?
It’s important to understand how I’m participating—directly or indirectly—in a situation that I can’t seem to transform in my life.
Opening the blocks and obstacles that are obstructing my path is the greatest gift a Tarot session can offer. To understand yourself on a deeper level—to see your motivations and the reasons behind your actions or the outcomes in your reality—is the most important step toward transformation.
You become empowered by recognizing the hidden motives behind certain attitudes. This awareness gives you the key to transform. Behind every scenario in your life where you feel someone else is exercising coercion over you, there is a hidden benefit that, likely unconsciously, you are receiving. No matter how much you cry or deny this painful truth—if you are in a circumstance (regardless of how painful it feels), there is a benefit keeping you there. It could be as basic as the need to be seen…
There are predictions during a reading that are undeniable and unstoppable. Energy speaks loud—especially if, in consecutive questions, the results are pretty much the same. So yes, Tarot is a predictive tool by all means. However, it is also a tool that speaks about the present.
In the present moment, you feel a certain way—and based on those feelings, you intend to take a certain course in life. If your feelings change, the prediction may change, because your intentions will shift.
If the question doesn’t involve feelings—but rather processes or the force of destiny—then it is likely that the results will remain the same. But the interpretation is not always immediately understood, because the Tarot might indicate that a situation is going to be beneficial, even though you are currently experiencing it with pain. That might mean the Tarot is pointing at the soul lessons behind the process.
On the other hand, the Tarot may reveal that a certain event or situation is not going to work out well, even when everything on the surface looks perfectly fine. Remember: the Tarot always shows the hidden meaning of events, situations, and people.
The Tarot is a portal through which you can cross—from apparent reality into the hidden truth behind it.
